Privacy Policy
Contacts Pro Effective 10 October 2026
The short version
- Contacts Pro keeps your contacts, screenshots, notes and memories on your phone.
- No account is needed to use the app. An optional sign-in (Apple or Google) lets one free trial and one lifetime purchase cover every app in our bundle. There is no advertising or tracking.
- We do not upload your contacts, images, voice or notes to our servers, and today the app has no cloud backup or sync.
- Crash reports are optional and off until you turn them on.
Who we are
Contacts Pro is published by Bharan Nallapuneni (Pro AI Labs) on the App Store and by Datrix Loop Pvt Ltd on Google Play. Questions about privacy: bi.bharan@gmail.com
What the app handles, and where it stays
Everything below is stored on your device, in the app's private storage or in your phone's own Contacts. - Contacts: the app reads your address book to show, search and organise your people, and saves, edits, merges or deletes contacts only when you ask. - Screenshots, photos and camera images: text is read from the image on your device to find names, numbers and other details. Images you save from are kept in the app's private storage as the source of that contact, and are removed according to the app's lifecycle rules when the contact is removed. - Notes, context, timeline and follow-ups: what you remember about a person, where you met, and reminders you set. Reminders are scheduled on your device. - Favorites, tags, saved searches and settings. - Recently deleted contacts: a local copy kept so you can restore a contact you removed by mistake.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address or phone number to run the app. The only exception is the optional bundle sign-in described below, which stores the name and email address of the account you choose. We do not run advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use analytics that record what you do.
Voice and speech
When you use the microphone, whether to capture a contact by voice or to dictate into a text box, your phone's own speech recognition turns your voice into text. Contacts Pro does not upload your voice and does not keep the audio. Depending on your phone, language and settings, Apple or Google's speech service may process the audio, under their own privacy policies. Where your phone supports on-device recognition, Contacts Pro asks it to stay on the device.
Optional crash reports
In Settings you can turn on Share crash reports. It is off by default. If you turn it on, Google Firebase Crashlytics receives technical details when the app fails: the place in the code where it failed, app version, device model, operating system version, and an anonymous installation identifier. It never receives your contacts, screenshots, text, notes, search words or voice. You can turn it off at any time, and reports not yet sent are discarded.
Other services and libraries
- Text recognition uses your phone's built-in vision technology on iPhone and Google ML Kit's on-device model on Android. Google's libraries may send technical performance and usage information (never your images or the text found) to Google.
- To tell you when a new version is available, the app asks the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android) for the latest version, about once a day. This is a standard request that shows your IP address and the app's identifier to Apple or Google, and never includes your contacts or anything you have saved. The only other time the app contacts a server of ours is the optional bundle sign-in and plan check described below.
- When you tap Call, Message, FaceTime or WhatsApp on a contact, the number is handed to that app or service, which applies its own privacy policy.
- Your phone's backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include Contacts Pro's data, according to your device settings.
Permissions
- Contacts: to show, search, save and tidy your contacts.
- Photos: only when you choose to read a screenshot or image. On Android the app never asks for photo-library access; you pick the image in the system photo picker and only that image is shared with the app.
- Camera: to photograph a card, poster or sign.
- Microphone and speech recognition: only when you use voice.
- Notifications: for follow-up reminders. You can change any permission in your phone's Settings. The app keeps working without the optional ones.
Free trial, purchase and sign-in (all bundle apps)
Contacts Pro is part of the Pro AI Labs apps (Contacts Pro, Clean Pro and Doc Pro), which share one free trial and one lifetime purchase. To make that work, our server (Google Firebase) keeps the following. Your contacts, images, voice and notes are never part of it.
- Free trial. So that the trial is the same in every bundle app and isn't restarted by reinstalling, the app sends a one-way scrambled code made from a device identifier (on iPhone a random value kept in the app's secure storage; on Android the system's ANDROID_ID). The code cannot be turned back into the identifier and is not used to follow you anywhere else. With it we keep when the bundle was first used on that device and which bundle apps were opened there. If you sign in, your trial is also stored with your account so it works on your other devices.
- Sign-in (optional). You do not need to sign in to try the app or to buy it. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep your account ID, the name and email address of that account (the email can be Apple's private relay address), your trial dates, and whether you have lifetime access and where it came from (a purchase, an invitation or a gift from us).
- Purchases. Purchases are made and paid through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card or payment details. The store's receipt for the purchase is sent to our server so it can be checked with Apple or Google, including later checks for refunds. If you are signed in, the purchase is linked to your account so it also unlocks the other bundle apps. A test purchase (sandbox or tester account) never unlocks a real account.
- Invitations. If you redeem an invitation code, we record that your account used it and when. Codes are stored only in a scrambled form.
- Support and security records. Actions taken by our team (for example giving or removing access) are recorded with the time, the account affected and the reason.
Cloud and future features
Contacts Pro does not currently upload your contacts, images or notes to servers we operate, and it does not offer cloud backup or sync. If a future version adds optional cloud features, we will update this policy and describe them in the app before they are available, explain what would be stored and why, and ask for your choice where the law requires it.
Keeping your data safe
Your data stays in your phone's protected app storage and your phone's Contacts. Protect it with your phone's screen lock. Because the app can change or delete contacts when you ask it to, we keep a recently deleted area and ask for confirmation before destructive actions.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you remove it. Deleting a contact in the app moves it to Recently deleted so you can restore it. Uninstalling the app removes its private storage, including saved images, notes, tags and reminders. Contacts saved into your phone's Contacts belong to your phone and stay there until you delete them.
- Delete your account in the app: More → Account → Delete account. This deletes your sign-in account and the records listed under "Free trial, purchase and sign-in" that belong to it (trial and access records, purchase links, invitation records). Purchases stay with your App Store or Google Play account and can be restored. Data on your phone is not touched.
- To stop the free trial or an invitation being used again by deleting and re-creating an account, we keep two things without your account ID: the scrambled device code with the date the device's trial ends, and the number of times an invitation was used.
- Signing out removes your account's access from that phone; your data on the phone stays.
Your choices and rights
Because your information stays on your phone, you can see, change and delete it directly in the app and in your phone's Contacts. Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold. We hold no contact data about you on our servers, only the trial, purchase and sign-in records described above, which you can delete in the app at any time; for questions about crash reports or anything else, contact bi.bharan@gmail.com.
Children
Contacts Pro is not directed to children under 13, or under the age required in your country, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version, and we will describe material changes in the app.
