The short version

• Doc Pro keeps your documents on your phone, encrypted. They are not uploaded to us.
• Reading, sorting, searching and translating your documents happens on your phone. Doc Pro does not send your documents or their text to any AI service.
• We do not sell your information, show ads, or use your documents for advertising or to train AI models.
• No account is needed to use the app. An optional sign-in (Apple or Google) lets one free trial and one purchase cover every app in our bundle.

What the app handles, and where it stays

• Documents you scan or import (pictures and PDFs). They are stored encrypted in the app's private storage. The key is kept in your phone's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore) and never leaves it.
• The text found in your documents, the details picked out of them (such as dates, amounts and numbers), your tags and reminders. These are stored in an encrypted database on your phone.
• Your settings.
• Reminders you approve are scheduled as notifications on your phone. They are not sent to any server.

Reading and understanding documents

The text of a document is read on your phone, by the phone's own text reader (Google ML Kit, and Apple's reader on iPhone) or by a language pack you downloaded. The kind of document and the details in it are worked out on your phone by the app's built-in rules. None of this sends your document, its pictures or its text anywhere.

Translation

You can translate the text of a scanned document into another language. The translation runs on your phone, for the languages your phone supports offline. The first time you use a language, a translation data file (about 30 MB) is downloaded from Google's translation service. Only the language file is downloaded; no part of your document is sent. The translated text is shown to you and is not stored by the app.

Language packs

On Android you can download offline reading packs for more languages. Downloading a pack contacts a public file host (GitHub) to fetch the language file only. No document, text or personal information is sent. Packs can be removed at any time.

Free trial, purchase and sign-in (all bundle apps)

Doc Pro, Contacts Pro and Clean Pro share one free trial and one lifetime purchase. To make that work, our server (Google Firebase) keeps the following. Your documents and their text are never part of it.

• Free trial. So that the trial is the same in every bundle app and isn't restarted by reinstalling, the app sends a one-way scrambled code made from a device identifier (on iPhone a random value kept in the app's secure storage; on Android the system's ANDROID_ID). The code cannot be turned back into the identifier and is not used to follow you anywhere else. With it we keep when the bundle was first used on that device and which bundle apps were opened there. If you sign in, your trial is also stored with your account so it works on your other devices.
• Sign-in (optional). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep your account ID, the name and email address of that account (the email can be Apple's private relay address), your trial dates, and whether you have lifetime access and where it came from (a purchase, an invitation or a gift from us).
• Purchases. Purchases are made and paid through the App Store or Google Play; we never see your card or payment details. The store's receipt for the purchase is sent to our server so it can be checked with Apple or Google, including later checks for refunds. If you are signed in, the purchase is linked to your account so it also unlocks the other bundle apps. A test purchase (sandbox or tester account) never unlocks a real account.
• Invitations. If you redeem an invitation code, we record that your account used it and when. Codes are stored only in a scrambled form.
• Support and security records. Actions taken by our team (for example giving or removing access) are recorded with the time, the account affected and the reason.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your documents, we do not run advertising, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use analytics that record what is in your documents. Crash and error reports, if enabled in your build, contain only the kind of problem and where it happened, never document text, names or numbers.

Permissions

• Camera: to scan documents.
• Photos and files: only the pictures and files you choose to import.
• Face ID / fingerprint: to unlock the app if you turn on the app lock.
• Notifications: for reminders you approve. You can change any permission in your phone's Settings.

Keeping your data safe

Documents and their details are encrypted on your phone. You can lock the app with Face ID, fingerprint, your phone passcode or a PIN, and the app hides its contents in the app switcher. Deleted documents stay in "Recently deleted" for 30 days, then their files are overwritten and removed. Because a phone can be lost, also protect it with your phone's screen lock, and keep your own backup of anything important. If you lose your phone or uninstall the app, the encrypted documents cannot be recovered, because there is no copy on our servers.

Retention and deletion

• Documents stay on your phone until you delete them. Uninstalling the app removes its private storage, including the encryption key.
• Delete your account in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your sign-in account and the records listed above that belong to it (trial and access records, purchase links, invitation records). Purchases stay with your App Store or Google Play account and can be restored. Your documents on the phone are not touched.
• To stop the free trial or an invitation being used again by deleting and re-creating an account, we keep two things without your account ID: the scrambled device code with the date the device's trial ends, and the number of times an invitation was used.
• Signing out removes your account's access from that phone; your documents stay.

Your choices and rights

Because your documents stay on your phone, you can see, change and delete them directly. You can delete your account in the app at any time. Depending on where you live you may have further rights to access, correct or delete personal data we hold; contact us at the address above.

Children

Doc Pro is not directed to children under 13, or under the age required in your country, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows the latest version, and we will describe material changes in the app.
